Audiologist

Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Audiology from a recognized university and registration with the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals. Clinical Pharmacist IE

The Clinical Pharmacist IE reports to the Regional Director of Pharmacy and will share in all aspects of operations. The successful candidate provides a comprehensive assessment of clients’ medication requirements and therapy, medication selection, dosage, route and method of administration and delivers individual or group counselling.

Job Qualifications:

Graduation with a Diploma in Cardiovascular Technology from a recognized/approved college is required

Medical Laboratory Technologist I

Reporting to the Laboratory Technologist III, the primary purpose of this position is to perform laboratory testing in the Chemistry, Microbiology, Hematology, Blood Banking and Water Testing Sections of the Medial Laboratory Department at the Labrador Health Centre, under the medical direction of the Regional Medical Director of Laboratory Services/Regional Pathologist. Duties (Include but not limited to):

  • Ensuring that they personally perform and meet all the requirements for Laboratory accreditation as recommended by Accreditation Canada, and the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare, IQMH, and that they maintain these standards at all times when they are working in the Laboratory
  • Operates all the instruments in the laboratory with confidence and efficiency;
  • Participates in the laboratory department's quality improvement program by daily monitoring and recording of control results and assisting in the preparation of audits as assigned by the Technologist II and III;
  • Participates in the departmental equipment maintenance program by performing daily maintenance as outlined in the procedure manual;
  • Will be an effective part of the Medical Laboratory Team and will help monitor the inventory of supplies required in the Medical Laboratory Department, and will report any concerns on stock levels of any item to the Section Lead Medical Laboratory Technologist II or designate. Will also complete all of the inventory documentation required to monitor and maintain supplies correctly in the Medical Laboratory Department;
  • Must be an active part of the Medical Laboratory Team keeping all work areas, and the entire Medical Laboratory Department clean and tidy at all times. Supplies when delivered must be stored in the appropriate place, and not left standing in the Medical Laboratory Department unattended causing a potential hazard in the workplace.
  • Assumes responsibility for the overall daily operation of the laboratory department as assigned by the Section Lead Technologist II and Department Lead Technologist III;
  • Will be part of the Medical Laboratory Team to develop indicators that assist the Regional Laboratory Services to identify processes to improve quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of Regional Laboratory Services;

Audiologist IM

Central Health is presently seeking the services of an Audiologist to be part of our team of 8 Speech Language Pathologists and 4 Audiologists serving a population of approximately 112,000. Job Summary

The provincial Public Health Laboratory and Eastern Health Clinical Microbiology Laboratory function as a Division within the Department of Laboratory Medicine, and offer a wide range of routine, specialized and reference services for the entire province in public health and acute care adult and pediatric clinical microbiology. The successful candidate will join a busy team of Clinical Biochemists, Molecular Geneticists, Cytogeneticists, Medical Microbiologists and Pathologists, and provide state of the art laboratory services to EH and the Province.

Reporting to the Division Chief, the successful candidate will have analytical/technical supervisory and clinical service responsibilities for the provincial Public Health and Clinical Microbiology Laboratory located in St. John’s. This will also cover health care facilities in Carbonear, Clarenville and Burin, with interactions with other Regional Health Authority Clinical Microbiology Laboratories in the Province and include providing relevant expert clinical microbiology information to all physicians, laboratories, public health and other allied health care professionals as required. Job Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Genetic Counselling is required.
