Lixar is looking for a .NET Team Lead to become part of our team.

As an Experienced .NET Team Lead, you will have:
  • 7+ years previous .NET development experience
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • Demonstrable experience with Azure
  • Demonstrated ability and flexibility to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Experience working on and leading enterprise level projects that involved at least four team members
  • Demonstrable experience interfacing with clients in extracting use cases and deriving requirements
  • Experience with application server set-up using IIS
  • Experience using RESTful and SOAP Web Service technologies: ASP.NET, AJAX, JSON, XML
  • Working experience with OO Patterns: Singleton, Façade, Factory, Visitor
  • Experience with VisualStudio
  • Knowledge of formal design languages, including UML, Rational Rose

Senior Full Stack Developer

Lixar, Nova Scotia

Lixar is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to become part of our Ottawa or Halifax team.

As a Senior Full Stack Developer, you will have:
  • 7+ years of development with OO or Functional languages
  • Strong experience with one or more modern JS frameworks such as: React, Node.js, Meteor, Angular 2, Backbone
  • Strong experience in writing scalable, enterprise level, web applications.
  • Experience in one or more of the following server-side platforms: Node.js, .Net, Java
  • Knowledge of SASS/LESS or similar CSS preprocessors
  • Experience writing custom libraries and APIs that align with current RESTful standards.
  • Strong experience with HTML & CSS (including Bootstrap) and current best practices
  • Demonstrated ability and flexibility to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Ability to apply initiative and creativity when approaching challenges
  • Ability to derive problem space requirements and drive towards design
  • Post-secondary education in engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience
The following would be considered an asset:
  • Experience with packaging and build tools such as: Gulp/Grunt, WebPack, Bower, yeoman
  • Some experience and knowledge with JavaScript security issues, XSS
  • Knowledge of semantic HTML
  • Understanding of browser developer tools
  • Understanding of automated testing frameworks such as Mocha, Jasmine
  • Understanding of automated testing tools such as Selenium
  • Knowledge of BDD (Behavior Driven Development) and Gherkin
  • Knowledge of TDD practices
  • Knowledge of .Net MVC and Razor templating

Senior Java Team Lead

Lixar is looking for a Senior Java Team Lead to become part of our team. As a team lead, you will be supporting and participating in the ongoing development of leading edge applications. The ideal candidate will be a senior developer who has experience working directly with clients, excellent communication skills and a sense of commitment to customer satisfaction.

As a Senior Java Team Lead, you will have:
  • 6+ years previous Java development experience
  • 3+ years team lead and mentoring experience
  • Experience working on long-term enterprise projects
  • Demonstrated ability and flexibility to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Initiative and creativity when approaching challenges
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment (SCRUM)
  • Proven experience using RESTful Web Services, XML, EJBs, JDBC, RDBMS, SQL
  • Understanding of development frameworks such as, Spring, Hibernate, Apache Tiles
  • Application server experience (e.g. Jboss, Tomcat)
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration (e.g. Maven, Bamboo, Cruise Control)
  • Experience with test automation frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, TestNG, JMeter)
The following would be considered an asset:
  • Experience working in a small company where team work is paramount
  • Exposure to Mobile application development
  • Familiarity with one or more of the following: Objective C, Android SDK
  • Familiarity with MacOSX and other UNIX based Operating Systems
  • Web technologies, jQuery, HTML, javaScript, CSS
  • Development tools: Maven, JIRA, Git, Confluence
